NEW YORK, 17 September 2021: COVID-19 has transformed the world and global leaders continue to pursue solutions to the complex issues presented by the pandemic. From disparate investment in health, to inequalities in access, the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute\u2019s Health is Wealth roundtable will address these issues and drive tangible solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Held as a hybrid event alongside the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Health is Wealth will bring together prominent government and corporate leaders to discuss how the world can better prepare and respond to future pandemics, and how we can work together for the benefit of all. Speakers have been drawn from across the globe including FII Institute Chairman His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan from Saudi Arabia, World Trade Organization Director-General Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala of Nigeria, UN Refugee Agency Goodwill Ambassador and actress Nomzamo Mbatha from South Africa, and United States TB Alliance President and CEO Dr. Mel Spigelman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Health is Wealth is presented by FII Institute, a global non-profit foundation with an investment arm and one agenda: Impact on Humanity. \u201cThe pandemic uncovered some harsh realities; the global economy shrunk by about 4%, mobility came to an abrupt standstill, millions of people were pushed into extreme poverty, and weaknesses in our global health systems were exposed,\u201d FII Institute CEO Richard Attias said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor every $1 invested in health, the world could see an economic return between $2 and $4 with developing countries benefiting from the highest returns,\u201d Mr. Attias continued. \u201cNow is the moment to charter a path toward more equitable, sustainable, and resilient health systems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Health is Wealth forms part of FII Institute\u2019s event series launched in April 2020 with year-round seminars and roundtables designed to pursue topics and actions from the Institute\u2019s flagship platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
