Emerging markets are missing out on crucial funding due to ESG ratings

A small handful of environmental, social and governance ratings providers have the power to shape entire economies. Trillions of dollars of investment capital follow their lead, and they will rule a third of the planet’s wealth by 2025. But each rating has an ingrained bias that is siphoning funds away from where they are needed most: emerging markets.
