ABOUT TWO-THIRDS OF THE GLOBAL extent of tropical coral reefs has al- ready been lost – 14 percent of that in the last decade alone, largely as a result of cli- mate change. Even if we reach the most ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement, 75–90 percent of those remaining are projected to disappear by 2035. Securing a future for coral reefs requires an all-hands-on-deck effort. We must mobilize scientists, technologists, innovators, policymakers and philanthropists. We need to develop and deploy at scale the next generation technologies and science that will enable us to conserve and restore coral reefs.

Captured in near real time, it was developed in partnership with the global pioneer in infectious disease risk solutions Metabiota and leading technology consulting firm Accenture. It tracks up to 60 pathogens, including those behind COVID-19, Dengue and Measles and is designed to increase global awareness about infectious diseases including Tuberculosis, Malaria and HIV, as well as reduce threats and provide valuable insights to drive decision making.The FII Institute officially launched the Index at the Health Is Wealth roundtable, held on the sidelines of the 76th United Nations General Assembly in New York, with world leaders, and government and private sector representatives in attendance.
